The Family Fiesta was once again a smash hit! Our participants, their families, board members and volunteers enjoyed great food, celebrations, games, and each other’s company. Participants and their accomplishments were highlighted. We recognized volunteers and members of our board. It was a night thanking the people who make our program possible, and celebrating the participants who are the reason we do it all.
The night began with prizes at registration, raffle tickets and Fantasy Golf. Once everybody had arrived, they lined up for food and chowed down as the program started.
The program began with a review of all the levels of the Life Skills Curriculum and key lessons of each level. Participants who have attained Albatross status (Ace certified) were individually recognized for their great achievement. After reviewing some of the elective classes that we offer, the program moved along to Participant Opportunities. Bryan Yan was recognized for his speech before the United States Congress back in May. Michelle Xie provided a summary of her time at the Auntie Anne’s Leadership and Entrepreneurs Forum. Jack Jaffe presented a slideshow inspiring younger participants to strive towards their dreams, as he did in his journey to The Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.
Following a quick raffle of prizes, volunteers and board members were recognized. These folks make it possible for The First Tee of Silicon Valley to reach so many youth. With such great demand for our programs, it’s thanks to their efforts – which they provide for free – that we are able supply life-changing lessons to much of the youth in our community. After these key members of The First Tee family were applauded, the final prizes were given out. The enjoyable night was wrapped up with some pictures at the photo booth and one final “¡Ole!”
